EAIE: European Association for International Education
The European Association for International Education (EAIE) supports higher education professionals in the internationalisation of their institutions since 1989. Each year, the organisation holds the EAIE Conference, Europe’s leading international higher education event, that counts with more than 7,500 participants and 200+ exhibition stands.
In 2025, EAIE decided to offset part of the conference emissions with Life Terra carbon removal credits. Furthermore, EAIE supported reforestation projects by adopting more than 7,000 trees and giving them to the conference's visitors.
Life Terra also participated in the conference with an exhibition stand at the Sustainability Hub.
This collaboration reflects a growing movement among international event organisers and the higher education sector to take responsibility for their climate impact. In this case, the EAIE set up the #EAIEgreengoals campaign with the ultimate goal of achieving a net-zero conference by reducing their carbon footprint, but also inspiring participants and exhibitors to take responsible actions.
