The Feather Down Group
The Feather Down Group is one of Europe’s market leaders in farm stay holiday accommodation, offering "free range" family short breaks on carefully selected farms. What sets the Feather Down Group apart is its focus on reconnecting people with nature and fostering a direct understanding of food production, all while supporting farm diversification. By choosing to stay at a farm, visitors not only enjoy the beauty of the outdoors but also contribute to sustaining rural economies.
With over 46 farms across Europe, the Feather Down Group provides cosy canvas hideaways through its brands: Feather Down Farms, Boerenbed, Un Lit au Pré, and Wiesenbett—the latter literally translating to "Bed in a Meadow," a perfect reflection of the peaceful, nature-centric holidays they offer. These stays combine tranquillity, rural charm, and an educational perspective on the essential role of farming in everyday life.
Established in The Netherlands in 2003, the canvas hideaways are inspired by the authentic interiors of 19th-century farmhouses but with added modern luxuries. Each stay offers guests a serene escape, a chance to immerse themselves in farm life, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.
By supporting farm diversification, the Feather Down Group not only creates unique rural hideaways but also fosters a deeper appreciation for agriculture and sustainable living.
As part of Feather Down’s commitment to sustainability, it balances its emissions in collaboration with Life Terra. In 2024 the company bought a number of Carbon removal and Biodiversity credits from our Luzianes project in Portugal, hereby actively supporting this local ecosystem restoration project.
