La Junquera

La Junquera is a large-scale regenerative agriculture project located in the region of Murcia, southeastern Spain. Set in a semi-arid landscape deeply affected by deforestation, industrial farming, and water overuse, the 1,100-hectare farm is undergoing a major transformation. Once dedicated to organic almond and heritage grain production, it is now being regenerated to restore soil health, water cycles, and local biodiversity through sustainable land management practices.
Life Terra joined forces with La Junquera in 2021 to support their reforestation efforts, planting 10,000 trees and shrubs to help kickstart ecosystem recovery. Given the success of this first phase, the collaboration has continued in the following seasons. The trees planted play a crucial role in stabilising the soil, reducing erosion, improving rainwater infiltration, and creating habitats for wildlife, essential steps toward reviving this fragile and vital landscape.
