Pego Viu
Local NGO dedicated to the conservation, protection and restoration of nature and ecosystems, especially the mountains surrounding the town of Pego, in Alacant. They carry out dissemnation actions and involve citizens and local stakeholders in the stewardship of local ecosystems.
Pego Viu organised, together with Desert Leaves and Interpreta Natura, in a joint effort, the reforestation of part of the land that was burned near the town of Pego (Alacant, Spain). Pego Viu involved volunteers, workers, organisations, the municipality, and the local community in several tree-planting activities to restore this natural area affected by forest fires. This is a hard terrain, very rocky dur to erosion and with steep slopes where restoration efforts are challenging and machinery cannot be used.
