Villamuriel de Cerrato City Council

Villamuriel de Cerrato is a municipality of the province of Palencia, in the region of Castilla y León, Spain and one of the first to collaborate with the Life Terra project.

In November 2020, the City Council of Villamuriel de Cerrato and Life Terra planted 2,000 trees as part of its "Siempre Verde" initiative (Always Green), where the City Council planted 6,500 trees in the village, one for each inhabitant. The City Council involved the neighbourhoods, as well as local schools to plant the trees.

In May 2021, the Life Terra team travelled to Valladolid and took this opportunity to visit the site and evaluate the results of the planting. To celebrate the success of the planting, we planted 15 more trees using the Cocoon technique together with the Mayor of the village, Roberto Martín; the town councillor of Citizen Participation, youth and education, Maria Rosario Andrés, and the town councillor of Urbanism and Environment, Ana Belén Martín.
