About the project
The owners of the beautiful Klarenbeek Estate have contributed positively to the local economy and community over several generations. From providing employment, to the construction of a railway station and churches, their influence has enhanced surrounding villages and their inhabitants. Now, the Klarenbeek estate has turned its sights on nature restoration and the promotion of biodiversity, with ambitious reforestation efforts.
Objective
Woodland restoration, the planting of new forests and the boosting of forest health and (climate) resilience by planting a variety of native species that are suitable for the climate, locality and soil type.
Impact
By supporting this project, you will help to plant new forests on unproductive farmland and restore woodland that has suffered degradation from ash dieback and other diseases. This will enhance ecosystem services in the area by improving soil quality, boosting water infiltration and biodiversity, storing carbon for decades, and increasing landscape value.
